Dear participants of ECASIA’19,
We had 5 eventful conference days here in Dresden and we as the organizers felt it was a successful event – we had only positive feedback of many of you!
First, remember the high level of scientific discussions. Most of the actual discussed social challenges that are closely connected with surface functionalization, interface chemistry or nanomaterials: such as renewable energy, biotechnology, healthcare were in the focus of our conference. The poster presentations were one of the most important parts of the conference and we had in a friendly collegial manner discussions about actual new applications, methodologies, technologies or materials. At the end of the conference we honored the best posters with the “SIA Poster Award”. During the industry exhibition and the scientific contribution of the suppliers we were introduced into the last technical development for improving the qualitative or quantitative outcome from our analytical methods.
Second, remember our social highlights. With “Welcome drink” at Sunday and the “Industry Opening Reception” on Monday we started in the conference week. Our Wednesday afternoon excursion was a highlight to learn about the cities architecture and history. Despite rain still during the bus tour, in Pillnitz the sun came trough and we had an interesting walk through Pillnitz Park and Palace. During the steamboat tour we had a view to the Elbe castles from the “captains perspective” – including the 100 years old steam engine working in the heart of the boat. After the AWARD ceremony honoring Prof. Jablonski, in the evening we had a delicious dinner, time for making individual contacts, music and dancing.
Third, it is time to say thank you - first once more to you as participants of the conference: your scientific work and its presentation here is the basis for a successful conference! Many sponsors and companies allowed us to organize the event in a nice relaxed atmosphere. The conference never could be so successful without the help of so many people: the organizing agencies, the ECASIA committees, the team of the International Congress Center and Maritim Hotel and the many volunteers from university and institutes.
Thanks to all of you for coming to Dresden and for making ECASIA’19 successful!
Hopefully we see us at next ECASIA 2021 in Ireland!
